History The Aerie was originally a nightclub in an unincorporated area of El Cerrito California called "No Man's Land". It was a very popular place in the 30's and the early 40's and was quite famous. The "Wagon Wheel" as it was called had many vices for the patrons, Bob Will's and his Texas Playboy's performed there quite often, Casino Gaming was also offered. The small rooms upstairs that were once used for quick encounters, are now used for offices. Now that the Old Wagon Wheel is the home of the Bayview Eagles, things have slowed, but the storied past is still a hot topic of many news articles that have been written recently. |
