As part of the effort to raise money for diabetes research, The Fraternal Order
of Eagles is selling Raffle Calendars for the chance to win $100 twice daily, beginning
June 1.
The raffle calendars are available for $20 each with proceeds benefitting The Fraternal
Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center.
$100 prizes will be awarded twice-a-day on each day of the fraternal year with the
exception of Christmas Day.
All numbers will be determined by the Grand Aerie offices in Grove City, Ohio, and
each winning calendar will remain eligible for all remaining prize drawings. Checks
will be sent out to the address submitted on each raffle stub.
Should you purchase a raffle calendar after the start of the fraternal year, any
prizes won by the number corresponding to your calendar prior to purchase will be
awarded retroactively.
The pocket calendar makes for a useful planning tool throughout the fraternal year
(June 1, 2010- May 31, 2011).

This will be a complete wing dedicated by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and
$200 of every stateroom price will go directly to making this fundraising project

Fredericksburg, Virginia
Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 4123 held their first annual Golf Tournament for The Fraternal
Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at Lee's Hill Golf Course on May 7. With
the help of all their sponsors (local businesses as well as Aeries, Auxiliaries
and individual Eagle members around the State of Virginia) they were able to raise
more than $7,000 for the FOE DRC.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Around Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 1562, Ray and Caroline Hfamilton are known as "The
Penny Pinchers" because they are always collecting spare pennies from members and
guests for The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research. To date they have raised
more than $2,000 for the cause.
"They work continuously every week collecting donations," said Past Worthy President
Ronald Carstetter. "They collect cans for recycling, as well as taking donations
on our band nights. They love the Eagles and the cause. Ray is our Aerie Outside
Guard and Caroline is our Madam Chaplin."
Latrobe, Pennsylvania
Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 1188 held a fish fry during Lent with the proceeds going
to The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. Pictured are volunteers

El Dorado, Missouri
A large crowd of local and state Eagles was on hand when Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary
4279 presented a check for $10,000 for The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research
Center on May 22. The occasion was the local Aerie's and Auxiliary's anniversary
celebration and the visitation of the Missouri State Presidents.
This is the second year that the El Dorado have raised $10,000 for The Fraternal
Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. Said one member: ³We no longer have bingo,
so this money was raised the old fashioned way."

Kennewick, Washington
A combined Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 2485 fundraising event brought in $1,500 for The
Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. "We are totally committed to
the cause," said event Chairwoman, pictured in the center presenting the check to
Aerie President Bill Bancroft and Auxiliary President Bonnie Knight.
Ithaca, New York
Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 1253 hosted a Mardi Gras party that raised $1,000 each for
The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center, Hospicare of Tompkins County,
and the Ithaca Police Explorers Club.

Green Bay, Wisconsin
Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Eagles members donated $555 dollars to the Diabetes
Research Center at the state’s Southern Zone Conference hosted by Green Bay Aerie
#401, April 23-25. Grand Trustee David Tice helped raise $350 during his presentation
at the joint banquet while $205 was raised during a presentation featuring a live
bald eagle named Liberty.
Silver Springs, Florida
Working at a concession booth at the Daytona Coke 400, and spreading the word about
the Eagles and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center were Past
State Madam President Sherry Gingras and Sharon Soard.
South Central Regional Conference
South Central Region Regional Presidents Jim Crownover of Olathe, Kansas Aerie
700, and Lois Coe, of Marceline, Missouri Auxiliary 726, sold ads and printed their
own South Central Regional Conference program book. From the sale of ads and boosters
(there were 630 boosters) the project raised $5,130 for the Fraternal Order of Eagles
Diabetes Research Center.
Jim and Lois presented the check to Grand Presidnts Mike Lagervall and Jean Kerr
at the banquet at the conference.
Wakeeney, Kansas
A float promoting the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center was entered
in the Trego County Free Fair last July 25 by Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3774.
Reports Auxiliary Secretary Mary Lou Goetz: "Pamphlets with our pledge card were
handed out along the parade route." Riding on the float were Worthy President C.J.
Pfannenstiel, Madam President Madonna Richeson, and Mary Lou and her husband, Virgil.
The Goetzes, both Past State Presidents, were chosen to ride on the float by virtue
of their induction into the State Aerie/ Auxiliary Hall of Fame at the state convention
in June.
Silver Springs, Florida
More than $2,000 has been donated by members of Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 4216 for
the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center, thanks in large part to
the efforts of Auxiliary member Susie Maxwell, volunteer chair of the fundraising
efforts for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. "She is doing
a terrific job," says Madam Secretary Sherry A. Gingras, "with lots of creative
ideas." One of them was the first annual Eagle WII Olympics at the Aerie home last
July. with WII bowling and tennis on equipment loaned by Eric Hall. On "Eagle NASCAR
Day" last August 1, members turned out to watch the race on TV, enter raffles and
eat grilled chicken and baked beans. Susie has posted creative banners and posters
at the Aerie home that are drawing attention to and support for our campaign to
build the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center.

The "Elvis for Diabetes Night" sponsored by Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3204 raised $1,917.

El Dorado Springs, Arkansas
On May 23, Tri-Lakes Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 4279 presented a contribution of $10,000
for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center to Dennis Gilhousen,
Chairman of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center campaign. "It
was decided several months earlier to donate to this worthy cause, and our members
worked hard to come up with a sizable donation," said Past State President Mark
W. Scott of Aerie 4279.
"What this Aerie of 300 members and Auxiliary of 200 members did was HUGE," said
Dennis Gilhousen, "and shows what the real purposes and possibilities of the FOE
are. What they did was have a goal and set about to do the WORK necessary to achieve
that goal--and then some. What they did absolutely blew me away! And it shows what
we, as an organization and as individuals, are capable of doing when we set out
minds to it. Thank you, Tri-Lakes 4279, for the $10,000--and beyond that for being
an example of what can be when we care!"
Orlando, Florida
Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary members held a Toga Party that raised $1,882 for the Eagles
D.D. Dunlap Kidney and Judge Bob Hansen Diabetes Funds. DJ Bob Vigh provided the
music for the occasion.

Medford, Oregon
Benjamin and Gerry Brackin know first-hand the cruelty of diabetes. They lost a
son to complications of the disease. The Brackins work hard for all the local Eagle
charities, but none moreso than the recent Aerie/Auxiliary 2093 effort to raise
money for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. A total of $2,269
was raised. The Brackins are shown with the check.
Winter Springs, Florida
On March 20, 2009 the Ladies Auxiliary held their "Dancing Away Diabetes" fundraiser
for the Diabetes Research Center, with the help of the Aerie and many members and
outside contributions we raised $5000.00 in pledges. The night had a St. Patrick's
Day theme with food, DJ/karaoke, raffles and a contest for pledges with the three
top winners receiving various Daytona Speedway packages. Our Aerie/Auxiliary truly
showed its commitment on this evening and we are very proud of each and every one
of our members.

Lake Havasu City, Arizona
The Lake Havasu City Eagle Riders #4299 held a raffle with the grand prize of a
Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle was donated by Wes Strock and won by
a Larry Moore. The event was well attended and raised $5,000 for Diabetes Research.
Hermann, Missouri
When Missouri Eagles received a letter from State Aerie Trustee, Mike Keithly and
PWSP/PWSCRP, Bill White asking all Missouri Eagles to donate $5.00 for each member
to help fund the Diabetes Research Center, Hermann Eagles #1328 did so proudly.
At the December 12, 2008 Presidents Visit, two checks were presented to SCRP David
Mattox along with State Presidents Cathy Wilcoxen and Rick Randol, on behalf of
all the Auxiliary and Aerie members. David Mattox graciously thanked all the members,
and noted they were the first in the state of Missouri to make such a generous committment
to the success of the fundraising for the charity.
Grand Junction, Colorado
New Mexico State Jr. Past President Randy Beevers presenting PGWP Bill Loffer a
check for $22,000.00 to The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center,
Diabetes Research was his State Presidents Project last year. Presentation was made
at the Four Corners Regional Conference held at Grand Junction, Colorado.
Vincennes, Indiana
Vincennes Aerie #384 hosted a co-ed softball tournament fot The Fraternal Order
of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. This was a joint endeavor with the #384 Auxiliary
and the Junior Eagles. Over $4,000 was raised from the event which was held Aug.
22,23, and 24th.
