Senior Developer

Statement of Purpose:

The Grand Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles Senior Developer. The role is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites and applications, from layout to function and according to the company’s specifications. Strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Regular exposure to business stakeholders and executive management, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems.
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • The position required constant communication with colleagues.
  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.
  • Deep expertise and hands-on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, ASP.NET, C#, VB, AJAX.
  • Experience working with at least once source control system SVN, GIT or similar.
  • Experience writing and maintaining stored procedures in SQL Server.
  • Deep functional knowledge or hands-on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc.) is needed to be successful in this position.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to applications.
  • Reviewing current systems
  • Presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals.
  • Working closely with analysts, designers and staff
  • Producing detailed specifications and writing the program codes
  • Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live
  • Preparation of training manuals for users.
  • Maintaining the systems once they are up and running

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer technology and/or equivalent
  • 2-4 years development experience and/or training; plus 2-4 years Microsoft network operation systems and/or enterprise level products experience required.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge in SQL Server, Crystal Reports, ASP.NET, and C#.
  • Ability to meet deadlines. Good follow-up skills. Attention to detail with high work accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision but also work collectively with others both internally and externally.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Multitask on projects and assignments. Flexible and able to adapt to on-going change.

Field Service Manager

Statement of Purpose:

The Grand Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles Field Service Manager for the organization. This position will be responsible for on site record inspection, analyzing, and tracking the financial and fraternal health of each individual Aerie and Auxiliary. This includes tracking financial histories, insurance compliance, charitable activities and adherence to the Constitutional rules and regulations. This position reports to the Assistant to the Grand Worthy President.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with each Aerie and Auxiliary regarding deviances from standards.
  • Work with files and data in Membership system to accurately reflect status of every Aerie and Auxiliary.
  • Process and respond to any daily e-mails, letters or questions.
  • Review forms to ensure current status is correct.
  • Review all Treasurer and Auditor reports in MMS system.
  • Issue letters regarding consequences of non-compliance with GA rules.
  • Consolidate information on all aspects of an Aerie and Auxiliary for the GWP and Grand Secretary offices to make informed decisions regarding the commission of Deputies and Agents.
  • Train and educate local and state officers in fraternal law.
  • Travel frequently and extensively within company policies to ensure proper business management skills on a local Aerie level.
  • Adapt well to changing fraternal laws and be able to explain and implement them in a speedy and effective manner.
  • Effectively oversee and manage other agents as directed by the Assistant to the GWP and send in monthly status reports on the progress of the other Agents' Aerie/Auxiliary assignments.
  • Work and communicate with all Agents in assigned regions.
  • Develop training materials and hold training for all aspects of the Constitution & Statutes and Rules & Regulations.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Detailed and extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. This includes the Bylaws and Constitutions of the Grand Aerie.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Ability to speak in public settings.
  • Charismatic attitude.
  • Analytical skills and experience with interpreting data.

Communications Specialist

Statement of Purpose:

This position will be responsible for lending their written communications expertise to the entire Membership/Marketing Department team. This position will support all members of the Department with development and execution of programs, media relations, marketing and other components through the preparation and review of all written communication.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Membership/Marketing Department to support execution of programs, marketing efforts and other tasks.
  • Creates written communications for all Marketing, programs, government relations and public relations efforts.
  • Supports Department by completing special projects as assigned.
  • Provides articles and other written materials as needed. Also assists with website content development and maintenance.
  • Write and review email newsletters on a monthly basis.
  • Interview appropriate parties and create press releases for local Aeries.
  • Draft speeches for officers as assigned and create articles for officers on a monthly basis.
  • Assist other associates when needed.
  • Assist in managing daily, weekly, monthly production schedules.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in public relations, journalism, communication or related field, equivalent experience and education combination preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in marketing, journalism or related field.
  • Experience with membership-based organizations is preferred.
  • Competent in new age media including social networking, web-based communication, etc.
  • Proven verbal and written communications skills. Strong interpersonal communications skills. Active listener.

Administrative Assistant/ Receptionist

Statement of Purpose:

The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist is responsible for providing a variety of administrative and clerical support tasks for the Grand Secretary’s Department and for the Organization. Administrative support for the Organization includes answering phones and transferring calls as necessary, greeting guests and maintaining the reception area for the Grand Aerie Office; support for the Departments includes a wide range of administrative roles including convention and other related hotel bookings.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provides a variety of administrative support activities, to include: answer phones, open/distribute mail, word processing/typing, data entry, filing and file maintenance, copies and organizes information, office supply support, etc.
  • Maintain, prepare, and distribute department information.
  • Types letters, memos, forms, etc. for distribution.
  • Maintains records, processes changes and distributes reports.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to other departments as requested.
  • This position requires a high degree of punctuality and specific coverage hours related to the reception area.
  • Works with and books rooms at the hotels for International Convention for Master List. Works with and books rooms at local hotels as necessary for out of town travelers.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Education or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train in support of organizational needs.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
