13 December PGWP Jerry Sullivan Passes Away at 72 December 13, 2020 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles General 0 It is with great sadness we must report the passing of Past Grand Worthy President Jerry Sullivan. Jerry was a proud and dedicated Eagle who joined the organization as a charter member of Fredericksburg, Va., Aerie #4123 in 1985, where he often served as Santa Claus for the annual Children’s Christmas Party. He continued to serve the Fredericksburg Eagles in various capacities throughout his time as an Eagle and maintained dual memberships at Spotsylvania #4391, Williamsburg #4548, Sunnyslope #2957 and Culpeper #4551. In the 90’s, Jerry rose through various local and state level chairs before being installed as the Virginia State Worthy President for the 2002-03 term. At the 2007 International Convention in Spokane, Wash., he first became a Grand Aerie Officer, holding the position of Grand Conductor. He progressed through the Grand Aerie for several years before finally reaching the pinnacle of the F.O.E., serving as Grand Worthy President for the 2016-17 term. At the time of his passing, Jerry was serving as the Chairman of Eagle Village, a living community for senior members of the F.O.E., in Bradenton, Fla. He was a dedicated ritualist who served on the Grand Aerie Ritual Team during his time as a Grand Officer and promoted the importance of the Ritual during his Eagles travels. His hobbies included playing cards and trying to better his golf game. Jerry will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his loving wife, Maxine, and their family. Jerry Sullivan's funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. ET, however there will be a limit of 75 people due to COVID restrictions. George passed away yesterday after a valiant battle with heart disease. PGMP Kathy Gonzagowski Passes Away Katherine S. Gonzagowski, 75, of Mesa, AZ, passed away Feb. 8, 2017. She is survived by her brother Bruce Gonzagowski, Mesa, AZ and many close friends and relatives. She was born in Mauston, WI on July 29, 1941. Her parents were Joseph and Myrtle Gonzagowski who preceded her in death. She spent most of her adult life in Madison, WI, where she worked for 40 plus years as an LPM at the Central Center for the developmentally disabled. Grand Trustee John Noldan Passes Away Brothers and Sisters, It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Grand Trustee John Noldan, 66, of pancreatic cancer. John was a proud and dedicated Eagle, firmly committed to upholding the Ritual and serving the Fraternal Order of Eagles in every way he could. He is survived by his loving wife, Kat, four children and nine grandchildren. GWP Sullivan Attends Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary Ceremony FREDERICKSBURG, VA, December 12, 2016 – Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) Grand Worthy President Jerry L. Sullivan traveled to Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, as an invited guest for the 75th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Sullivan and his wife, Maxine, toured the Visitors Center and memorial during the visit to pay tribute to those who bravely fought on Dec. 7, 1941. In 2008, the Eagles donated more than $50,000 toward the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Visitors Center, which includes museums dedicated to the attack on Pearl Harbor and World War II. PGWP Mel Fry, 1938-2024 We are extremely saddened to announce the passing of Past Grand Worthy President Melvin L. Fry (August 25, 1938 – April 30, 2024). Mel joined Carlisle, Pa., Aerie #1299 in 1961, where he remained a member for the entirety of his time as an Eagle. He held several offices in the Carlisle Aerie over the years including Worthy President for the 1985-1986 term.
