17 March Sawyer Brown Headlines Sunday Welcome Show March 17, 2021 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Convention Sawyer Brown, Convention, Phoenix, Eagles 0 The Fraternal Order of Eagles is bringing a bit of country to the desert this summer as country music legends Sawyer Brown headline the 2021 Welcome to Phoenix Show as part of our annual International Convention, Sunday, August 1 in Phoenix, Ariz. The show is free to all registered Convention attendees and will be held inside the JW Marriott Desert Ridge – the home site of this year’s Convention. Since their debut on “Star Search” in the early 1980’s, Sawyer Brown has gone on to release 23 studio albums with more than 50 chart singles. In addition to the band’s success on country radio, the group has taken home CMA, ACM, CMT and MCN Awards. However, Sawyer Brown is most known for their wildly entertaining live performances, having played more than 4,500 shows throughout the world. Sawyer Brown is a five-man band including singer Mark Miller, keyboardist Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard, lead guitarist Shayne Hill, bassist Jim Scholten, and drummer Joe Smyth. The band’s live shows are legendary. Having been described as “the Rolling Stones of Country Music,” the band bounds onto the stage night after night, delivering its own unique brand of high-energy entertainment, and the band remains a perennial favorite at fairs, festivals, theatres, and casinos. “We love getting to hear the stories of where people have seen us play—and the number of times they’ve seen us play,” drummer Joe Smyth says. “For some, we’re their weekend getaway—they’ve seen us all over the country. But we never lose sight of the fact that on any given night, it’s going to be the first time someone’s seen us—and that’s exciting. We want that show, that night, to live up to everything they hoped for when they came to the show. Couldn’t ask for better motivation.” Related Articles Williams & Ree to Open Welcome to Phoenix Show Musical comedy duo Williams and Ree will open this year's Welcome to Phoenix show on Sunday, Aug. 1, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge as part of the 2021 Fraternal Order of Eagles International Convention.
