  Sawyer Brown Headlines Sunday Welcome Show

  The Fraternal Order of Eagles is bringing a bit of country to the desert this summer as country music legends Sawyer Brown headline the 2021 Welcome to Phoenix Show as part of our annual International Convention, Sunday, August 1 in Phoenix, Ariz. The show is free to all registered Convention attendees and will be held inside the JW Marriott Desert Ridge – the home site of this year’s Convention.

  Since their debut on “Star Search” in the early 1980’s, Sawyer Brown has gone on to release 23 studio albums with more than 50 chart singles. In addition to the band’s success on country radio, the group has taken home CMA, ACM, CMT and MCN Awards. However, Sawyer Brown is most known for their wildly entertaining live performances, having played more than 4,500 shows throughout the world.

  Sawyer Brown is a five-man band including singer Mark Miller, keyboardist Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard, lead guitarist Shayne Hill, bassist Jim Scholten, and drummer Joe Smyth.

  Bret Michaels To Perform At Phoenix Convention In August

  The Fraternal Order of Eagles is ready to rock Phoenix this summer as multi-platinum global superstar Bret Michaels takes the stage at the 2021 Aerie and Auxiliary Members Banquet during this year’s International Convention. 

  Tickets are $50 per-person including concert and dinner and will go on sale later this month. Members must register for the Convention to be eligible to purchase tickets.

  Born in the small town of Butler, Pennsylvania, on March 15, 1963, Bret first rose to fame as the front man of Poison, helping to define the rock-n-roll scene on the Sunset Strip. One of rock’s most iconic and enduring bands, Poison’s massive success includes selling over 50 million records worldwide and numerous hit singles.

  Eagle Village Officially Opens New Rec Center

  On February 23, Eagle Village unveiled a bigger, better recreational center for residents, members, and guests to enjoy. The project, which has been under construction for the last few months, features more than 5,000 sq. ft. on the inside, and 1,200 sq. ft. for the covered deck outside. The rec center features one large open space for gatherings and celebrating events, such as birthdays and holidays, instead of the old structure’s multi-room layout.

  Members of the Grand Aerie and the Eagle Village board were on hand to cut the ribbon on the new building, including Grand Worthy President Carl Burnett and Past Grand Worthy President and Eagle Village board member Jerry L. Sullivan.

  Grand Aerie Reopening Policy

  Brothers & Sisters, 

  In the last few days, we have received several questions regarding whether or not Aeries are permitted to open for business yet by the Grand Aerie. 

  To clarify, any Aerie permitted by their State/Province to reopen for business, may do so, as long as they are following any necessary guidelines set by the State/Province regarding capacity, social distancing, indoor/outdoor seating, etc. 

  Any Aeries still affected by shutdown orders MUST remain closed until those orders are lifted. Once those orders are lifted, you may resume business operations in the capacity allowed by your State/Province.

  The University of Iowa and FOE DRC Welcome Dr. Ethan Anderson

  I am pleased to announce the recruitment of Ethan Anderson, PhD to the FOEDRC.  Dr. Anderson recently joined the Division of Pharmaceutics and Translational Therapeutics within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Experimental Therapeutics as an Associate Professor in the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.  Dr. Anderson received his B.S. from the University of Minnesota and PhD from Yale University.  Dr. Anderson’s research is focused on cardiac complications of diabetes, cardiac inflammation and fibrosis, and towards development of novel therapeutics and biomarkers of heart disease risk.

  Iowa Leadership welcome the Fraternal Order of Eagles Board of Trustees

  On Monday, August 15, the University of Iowa Foundation (UIF) welcomed the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) Board of Directors to the University of Iowa for their annual visit to the FOEDRC.
