28 April Evansville, Indiana - April 2017 April 28, 2017 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Indiana 0 Evansville Auxiliary #427 and River City Auxiliary #4023, also of Evansville, represented the F.O.E. on April 1, at a vendor fair for Child Abuse Prevention. Christine Huffman (#4023) and Tina Barrett (#4023) made a picture board showcasing the work of the Eagles and designed a brochure showing the amenities of each of Evansville’s Aeries. Bonita Stanley (#427 and dual at #4023), Deanna Ford (#427 and dual #4023) and Melinda Guinn (#4023 and dual #427) spoke to all about the FOE and how to become a member. Evansville #427 also hosted a fundraiser for Jimmy Durante Child Abuse. Robin Antey was appointed as Indiana State Auxiliary Chairperson for the Jimmy Durante Child Abuse Fund by State Madam President Diane Himes. Bonita Stanley made a large raffle basket by soliciting donations and sold raffle tickets all day. Other auctions and raffle were also held. The event raised $550. Related Evansville, Indiana - January 2017 River City Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #4023 made a donation of $1,000 to Vanderburgh County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). The organization advocates and serves as a voice in court for kids who have been abused or neglected. CASA currently serves 491 children. Evansville, Indiana - Sept. 2017 River City #4023 recently installed its new Auxiliary officers. Installing President Suzie Schapker and Installing Conductor Sally Carr led the installation of new officers, including Auxiliary President Melinda Guinn. Evansville, Indiana - November 2017 The Ladies’ Auxiliaries of Evansville #427 and River City #4023 joined together for a bake sale event to benefit the Weinhandl family. Two-year-old Carlee battles catastrophic epilepsy and cerebral palsy while her father Josh, is recovering from a devastating motorcycle accident. The all-day event included auctions, food trucks, games, cornhole, raffles and 50/50 drawings with live music and more. The event raised more than $5,500 for the family. Cadiz, Ohio - April 2017 Past Grand Worthy President Ron Stine of Cadiz Eagles #2162 was recently awarded the Citizen of the Year award by the Cadiz Lions Club for his efforts throughout the community. Bellevue, Nebraska - April 2017 Bellevue Aerie & Auxiliary #3912 raised #5,793.42 for the purchase of three pediatric heart monitors that will allow patients at Omaha Children’s Hospital a chance to go home and have a normal life. Colonial Beach, Virginia - April 2017 Colonial Beach Eagles #4315 made a generous donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital last month. As a result of months of planning by benefit committee chairman, Bill Hall, co-chair Rebecca Kinson, and committee members Debbie Bennett, Donna Barnette, Patricia Cochran, Debra Garcia, Carrie Keister, Ginger Roth, Sharon Schellin, and Linda Watts, the F.O.E. was able to donate $12,232 to this worthy cause. Committee members ran several events to raise funds, including a brown bag auction, buffets during football games, and a prime rib dinner.
