Fredericksburg, Virginia - February 2024

Junior Order of Eagles #4123 recently held a Shoe Drive, with the shoes making their way to a village in Rwanda. Thank you to those who donated to Andrew Frye's shoe drive! Together, the Junior Order of Eagles #4123 collected hundreds of shoes! Thank you to a good friend Yves for helping coordinate getting them to this village in Rwanda where they were needed!

Fredericksburg, Virginia - October 2023

On August 6, The Junior Order of Eagles at Fredericksburg #4123 held a book drive and collected 400 books, for Macie's Little Free Library.

Fredericksburg, Virginia - May 2023

The Junior Order of Eagles of Fredericksburg #4123 held a raffle for chances to win tickets and a basket filled with swag for the local Fredericksburg Nationals baseball team. Proceeds from the raffle were used to put together 20 Easter Baskets for local non-profit organization Transitions4You, which helps local families who are living in hotels and working toward permanent housing. The group provides Easter baskets and a parade for the children living in the hotels. 

Sutherlin, Virginia - January 2023

Piedmont Eagle Riders #4420 held their 13th Annual Dean Ferris Memorial Ride last fall, benefiting the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association for the 11th year in a row. Thanks to the hard work of many businesses, individuals and members, they were able to donate more than $35,000 to DPCA.

Virginia - August 2022

During the 2022 Virginia State Convention held in Fredericksburg, Virginia, June 23-25, the Virginia State Eagles were able to present a check to “Homes For Our Troops” for $136,721. These funds will go directly to aid in a build for Kevork “Khach” Khachadurian, who lost both of his legs when he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) in Afghanistan in 2011. This donation was the byproduct of a year’s worth of fundraising towards the 2021-2022 Virginia State Worthy President’s Charity Project. 

The raising of funds began in Phoenix at the 2021 Grand Convention where SWP Rock Ruark and other volunteers sold his SWP Magnet to kickstart the effort. “The entire Virginia State Eagle Family got behind this effort and, in the end, raised far more money than I ever imagined; for which I am eternally grateful and proud of their accomplishment,” said SWP Rock Ruark. “This has been a marquee year for our State; with three new Aerie/Auxiliary Homes; 9.9% Net Gain in membership; and now this huge gift” he added. 

Rock himself is a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army and stated “there was never a doubt as to the type of charity he would select when he reached the seat of State Worthy President; however, when research was completed, it was “Homes For Our Troops” that won out over various non-profits assisting America’s Heroes today”.

Fredericksburg, Virginia - December 2020

Fredericksburg Aerie #4123 presented Grand Worthy President Dave Smith with a check for $5,000 at his official visit in early October. Officers of the Aerie treated GWP Smith to dinner and he then attended a meeting and initiation. This was the second $5,000 check received from the Fredericksburg Aerie for his charity projects.

Mid-Atlantic Region - December 2020

During the Mid-Atlantic Conference that was hosted by Fredericksburg Aerie #4123 in the first week of November, donations of $2,800 were presented to Grand Worthy President Dave Smith and Grand Madam President Jacques Marble’s charity Bridge for the Cure.

Sutherlin, Virginia - October 2020

Piedmont Eagles #4420 held their eleventh annual Dean Ferris Memorial Ride, and in its ninth year of benefiting the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association, they were able to raise $11,750 for the organization. In the previous nine years that they have been supporting the DPCA, they have donated more than $156,000.

Virginia - September 2020

All of Fraternal Order of Eagle locations in the state of Virginia collectively raised $38,013.30 for the Guadalupe Free Clinic as a part of charity project for Llyod “Tommy” Edwards, member of #4315 and the 2019-2020 Virginia State President. The different locations raised money by holding various events during Edwards’s presidency. The money will be used to assist the Guadalupe Free Clinic with their needs as they serve the town of Colonial Beach and Westmoreland County.

Fredericksburg, Virginia - August 2020

Fredericksburg #4123 Auxiliary held a Quarter Auction on August 1. This event was postponed twice because of the pandemic and finally held with social distancing rules in effect. The event raised over $3,800 for the Virginia State Madam President's charity, the Some Gave All Foundation, to help wounded veterans in the community.
