Chillicothe, Ohio - May 2018

The Chillicothe Eagles #600 hosted dinner for the Chillicothe Ohio Girls Cheerleading Squad in recognition of them winning the Oassa State Cheer Div III build title this year. All 24 girls were presented with a pull over jacket, while their coaches and assistants presented them with championship rings. Everyone in attendance also were served a chicken noodle dinner.


Depew, New York - May 2018

For the last two years Depew-Lancaster #2692 has donated more than $25,000 to Brian Moorman’s P.U.N.T. Foundation. Recently, #2692 presented another $1,000 grant check to P.U.N.T. The foundation helps provide local families affected by pediatric cancer with support and opportunities to improve their quality of life.


Alliance, Nebraska - May 2018

During a dinner honoring Nebraska State Madam President Nadean Rhodes, Alliance Eagles #136 donated $2,575 that will be split between the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Autism Outreach Clinics. An additional $680 was raised during #136’s casino night, which will also go to the cancer center and clinic.


Leicester, Massachusetts - May 2018

Leicester / Spencer Eagles #4541 held an “Ultimate Grill Raffle” contest to raise funds for officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. who was killed in the line of duty, and was a former member of #4541. The raffle raised $3,315, which ill go toward the Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. Memorial Fund.
“It truly was a community event with all types of people and organizations getting involved to raise money for the Tarentino Fund,” said Mike Shea event organizer, #4541 Trustee, and Massachusetts State Officer. “We were overwhelmed with the level of support from our other Eagle Aeries in Massachusetts. The Weymouth Eagles Club sent a check for $300, the Marlborough Club $200, the Hudson Club $200 – It was an impressive showing of support for the Tarentino -family and our small Club in Leicester.”


Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - May 2018

Coeur d'Alene Aerie #486 donated $1,000 to the "Bare Necessities Backpack Project" to help local veterans with essential needs. The backpacks are filled with items for personal hygiene, bathing, dental hygiene, Band-Aids, first-aid cream, towels, washcloths, socks, hats and gloves in the winter, sewing kits, manicure kits, water bottles, eating utensils, notepads and pens. The backpack program is a collaborative effort between 4-H members, the Coeur d'Alene Eagles #486, the VFW Foundation and the VFW Post 889 Auxiliary.
