Detroit Lakes, Minnesota - March 2017 Detroit Lakes Eagles #2342 held their annual Community/Charity Auction on Saturday, Feb. 18. The live auction had a wide variety of products, services, gift items and more, which were auctioned off with proceeds going to great local causes. Chairman Larry Swiers reported that $3,700 was raised thanks to the many businesses who contributed to the auction. On Feb. 11, the Detroit Lakes Eagles Blood Drive saw 40 people volunteer to give blood. Eight gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine, which collects two unites of red blood cells, which resulted in 44 total products. They had three first time givers. Members recruited donors, registered them and provided refreshments and snacks for those who volunteered to give. United Blood Services representative Katie Bartelson thanked the Detroit Lakes Eagles for their successful effort. On Saturday, April 1, the Detroit Lakes Past President’s will be holding their annual Stag & Doe event, featuring a 10-gun raffle, a catered roast beef dinner with drinks from 6:30-10 p.m. Raffle tickets are $25 each and dinner & drink tickets are $25 each.
