Harry Nelson, a member of the popular local band The Willies, was injured in a motorcycle accident, undergoing long-term therapy and facing extensive medical bills. Cle Elum Eagles #649 answered the call to help, holding a HarryStock event on June 3 to help raise funds to offset Nelson’s bills. The street in front of the club was closed down and featured a beer garden, bands and raffles all to help Harry. The event raised more than $30,000 to help Harry in his recovery.

Cle Elum Eagles #649 held their annual Sweetheart Ball Feb. 11, raising a total of $2,476 to donate to the Max Baer Heart Fund. The Auxiliary received a $500 from the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle for the Fund. Holding the check are Co-Chairman Carol Crossen, Stephanie Vogtzinn of Swedish Medical Center and Co-Chair Viva Rogers, the 2017 Sweetheart Queen honored for her outstanding volunteerism.
