Marceline, Missouri - December 2018

Marceline Eagles #726 donated $1,370 to Wreaths Across America. They also sold $281 worth of raffle tickets, and donated those funds to Wreaths Across America. 

Marceline Eagles #726 presented the Food Pantry Administrator Bill Toops with a $500 check for the Marceline Food Pantry. 

Marceline Eagles #726 gave a $500 grant to the Linn County Humane Society, in conjunction with Allstate Insurance.

Boonville, Missouri - October 2018

Past Madam State President and Past Madam South Central Regional President Barb Cornine was recently featured in HERHEALTH magazine for her work with Ovarian Cancer and the Vicki Welsh Foundation. Barb is a 13-year ovarian cancer survivor and as a part of her special charity, the state raised over $30,000 and donated it to the Vicki Welsh fund. While the fund brings awareness to Ovarian Cancer, much of the money raised was donated to the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS for Ovarian Cancer research.

Jefferson City, Missouri - July 2018

Jefferson City Aerie #2693 presented a gift of $4,456 to the Capital Region Medical Foundation. The money will go toward a new linear accelerator in the Goldschmidt Cancer Center. The new accelerator will bring more advanced treatment options to the center’s cancer patients, radiation, and it can customize high-energy X-rays or electrons to conform to a tumor’s shape to destroy cancer cells while sparing surrounding tissue. To date, Aerie #2693 has donated more than $123,000 over the years.

Canton, Missouri - April 2018

During Big Tree Aerie and Auxiliary #1800 annual State President’s visit and membership drive event, multiple donations were made to local and state charities. Donations totaling $2,800 were distributed to the Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund, Diabetes Research Center, Canton RV Band program, the Highland High Band program, and the Canton Community Center. The Lewis County Nursing Home also received a grant of $5,000 for its Alzheimer’s Unit.

Sullivan, Missouri - March 2018

During the MBSH Foundation fundraising event, Sullivan Aerie #3781, presented a $4,000 check to Lisa Lochner of Missouri Baptist Hospital. Proceeds were raised during their last BINGO night, all of which are being directed into the Missouri Baptist Hospital Cancer Fund. The Cancer fund exists to assist many facets in care & support for our local community members battling various cancer treatments.
