Staunton, Virginia - May 2018

During Valley Children's Advocacy Center’s fourth annual gala, Virginia State President Jerome Lane donated a check for $10,000 to the cause. Elliott’s Knob Auxiliary #680 also donated $1,000 and Shenandoah Valley Eagles #4150 donated an additional $1,000 during the gala. Valley CAC is a non-profit that is designed to reduce the trauma and advance the recovery of abused and neglected children.

Strasburg, Virginia - March 2018

-Massanutten Aerie 4186 donates $830, which is enough to send two local boy scouts to camp next summer.

-Massanutten Aerie donates $220 to help send children from our local high school to the national FFA conference.

-Massanutten Aerie donates $220 to help send children from our local high school on a trip to Philadelphia with the music department.

Petersburg, Virginia - November 2017

The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Petersburg #882 delivered 55 “Blessing Bags” to Pathways, which is an area organization sponsored by local churches to help those in need. Pictured, l to r, are Madam President Lesta Lane, the fine men from Pathways who helped feed the needy for Thanksgiving, Past Madam President & Secretary Pat Rose and her two granddaughters and future Auxiliary members Taylor and MariBeth. It was a rewarding day for the volunteers who could feel the energy and faithfulness of “People Helping People” in their efforts as a part of the week of Movement to End Hunger and Homelessness.

Piedmont, Virginia - Sept. 2017

On Aug. 19, Eagles from across the state gathered for the 8th Annual Dean Ferris Eagle Riders Memorial Ride. Registration ran until 12:45 p.m. before 55 bikes and 10 cars and trucks headed out with police escort for a 65-mile ride through beautiful scenic country roads. Riders passed through fields of cantaloupe and tobacco before stopping at a Welcome Center, a classic country store called Paul’s Place and a firestation in Turbeville for their famous cantaloupe. Riders returned to the Piedmont Aerie with several members lining the road waving American flags to welcome the bikes back. Participants were treated to BBQ, baked beans, homemade slaw and cold drinks. At the end of the day, $27,222.56 was raised for the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association.
