Leicester, Massachusetts - May 2018

Leicester / Spencer Eagles #4541 held an “Ultimate Grill Raffle” contest to raise funds for officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. who was killed in the line of duty, and was a former member of #4541. The raffle raised $3,315, which ill go toward the Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. Memorial Fund.
“It truly was a community event with all types of people and organizations getting involved to raise money for the Tarentino Fund,” said Mike Shea event organizer, #4541 Trustee, and Massachusetts State Officer. “We were overwhelmed with the level of support from our other Eagle Aeries in Massachusetts. The Weymouth Eagles Club sent a check for $300, the Marlborough Club $200, the Hudson Club $200 – It was an impressive showing of support for the Tarentino -family and our small Club in Leicester.”


Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - May 2018

Coeur d'Alene Aerie #486 donated $1,000 to the "Bare Necessities Backpack Project" to help local veterans with essential needs. The backpacks are filled with items for personal hygiene, bathing, dental hygiene, Band-Aids, first-aid cream, towels, washcloths, socks, hats and gloves in the winter, sewing kits, manicure kits, water bottles, eating utensils, notepads and pens. The backpack program is a collaborative effort between 4-H members, the Coeur d'Alene Eagles #486, the VFW Foundation and the VFW Post 889 Auxiliary.


Orange City, Florida - May 2018

Five years ago Southwest Volusia #4201 chose to make Orange City Elementary their main charity to support. OCE is a Title 1 school where a majority of its students qualify for free lunch, and 64 children live in a state of homelessness. Eagles Lodge #4201 helps by providing school supplies, backpacks, meals, and warm clothing for the cold. During this year’s Easter celebration, #4201 held a fundraiser where they raised $1,500 for OCE and presented the check to Principal Charles Bynum.


New Port Richey, Florida - May 2018

-Suncoast Auxiliary #3153 donated $1,000 to Neighborhood Revitalization! The money will be used to build decent, affordable houses with community partners and qualified families.

-Suncoast Auxiliary #3153 gave a donation of $1,000 to the non-profit CARES. To date Aerie #3153 has donated over $3,500 to the clinic. CARES is an organization dedicated to helping older adults in West Central Florida to stay at home, stay connected, stay independent, and stay informed through health, social and supportive services.


Penticton, British Columbia - May 2018

The Penticton Eagles #4281 have donated a combined $12,700 to Penticton Regional Hospital, including almost $3,700 to the SOS Medical Foundation’s efforts to support the delivery of quality health services. The funding will also cover areas such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Cardio, Diabetes and Kidneys, and the Moog & Friends Hospice House. Since 2015, the Penticton Eagles #4281 have now donated more than $45,000 to the Medical Foundation’s tower campaign. The provincial government has also approved the naming of the “Fraternal Order of Eagles Room” in the new tower, set to open in April 2019.
