Georgetown, Ohio - March 2018

Ohio State Treasurer Jack Buehner received a $1,000 donation for the Eagles Cancer Fund from Pleasant Aerie #2293.

Las Cruces, New Mexico - March 2018

Aerie #4038 presented a $1,000 check to the Shattered Lives program, which is a local anti-DWI campaign that enlists the help of student actors to simulate drunk driving crashes. The donation from the Aerie will help fund next year’s program. Shattered Lives is made possible through collaborative efforts of several local law enforcement agencies, including the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department, Las Cruces Police Department, New Mexico State Police and the local sector of the U.S. Border Patrol. Since 2016, the program has operated on donated funds and volunteer efforts. 

“This community can’t afford to let a program like Shattered Lives fade away,” said incoming Shattered Lives Director David Almaguer, who works full-time as the emergency medical services liaison for Mountain View Regional Medical Center, a major in-kind contributor to the program. “We are grateful to our local chapter of the Eagles for their generous gift, and hope their gesture will encourage other organizations to invest in the future of our youth to make healthy decisions when it comes to alcohol.”

North Platte, Nebraska - March 2018

North Platte Aerie #2839 has donated $1,000 to the North Platte Area Ready to Serve Volunteer Program to help offset the cost of books. Now in its tenth year, the books purchased are distributed to the North Platte public preschools and elementary schools, McDaid, Head Start and Our Redeemer Lutheran School each year. All students will receive two age-appropriate books.

Sullivan, Missouri - March 2018

During the MBSH Foundation fundraising event, Sullivan Aerie #3781, presented a $4,000 check to Lisa Lochner of Missouri Baptist Hospital. Proceeds were raised during their last BINGO night, all of which are being directed into the Missouri Baptist Hospital Cancer Fund. The Cancer fund exists to assist many facets in care & support for our local community members battling various cancer treatments.

Leavenworth, Kansas - March 2018

Leavenworth Aerie #55, home of South Central Regional President James "Jim" Rodgers, hosted a reception in his honor. Many fellow Eagles from across Kansas and Missouri were on hand to help him celebrate. During the night, money raised for the FOE Diabetes Research Center, which is Rodgers' Regional charity. The Aerie donated $5000.00 with a guarantee to match up to that amount raised for the Regional charity in Missouri & Kansas. Evansville, Indiana - March 2018

River City Eagles Auxiliary #4023 presented The Arc of Evansville with a grant worth $1,000. The funding will go toward purchasing art supplies that will be used at the Arc’s Child Life Center, which serves children age 12 and under, both with and without disabilities.

Norwalk, Connecticut - March 2018

Aerie #558 hosted a Winter Luau Dance Party, where they raised 1,000 for the Jimmy Durant Children’s Fund.

ElDorado Springs, Colorado - March 2018

Tri Lakes Aerie #4279 hosted its annual charity auction where they raised $7,063. The proceeds will go to High Hopes, which assists cancer patients with travel expenses.

Brisbane, California - March 2018

Brisbane Aerie #3255 held a Lasagna Dinner, which raised $1,388 for the Max Baer Heart Fund.

Kasilof, Alaska - March 2018

Six members of Kasilof Aerie #4317 and Denali, a black lab, participated in the annual Way Out Women (WOW) Snow Machine Run for Cancer in honor of their member Dwayne Whiteley, and previous members Betsy Hester and Laura Harmon, who both lost their battle to cancer.  Whiteley was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and the Aerie’s have shown their love and support by helping with medical expenses and his bucket list.  This year the race’s them was revolved around Patriotism and the participating members dressed up as Samantha, the Statue of Liberty, the Flag of the United States, a Firecracker and a $100.00 bill. During the race, the Aerie raised more than $2,500 and has collectively raised over $40,000 for the WOW event.
