The donation from the Aerie will help fund next year’s program. Shattered Lives is made possible through collaborative efforts of several local law enforcement agencies, including the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department, Las Cruces Police Department, New Mexico State Police and the local sector of the U.S. Border Patrol. Since 2016, the program has operated on donated funds and volunteer efforts.

“This community can’t afford to let a program like Shattered Lives fade away,” said incoming Shattered Lives Director David Almaguer, who works full-time as the emergency medical services liaison for Mountain View Regional Medical Center, a major in-kind contributor to the program. “We are grateful to our local chapter of the Eagles for their generous gift, and hope their gesture will encourage other organizations to invest in the future of our youth to make healthy decisions when it comes to alcohol.”
