Maryland - March 2017

2015-2016 State Madam President Diana Booth of Frederick #1067 toured Maryland during her year to raise money for Family, Resource, Information & Education Network for Down Syndrome (F.R.I.E.N.D.S.), collecting more than $26,000. The check was recently presented to the organization which provides support, resources and programs for people with Down syndrome. Pictured, l to r, are F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Cresaptown, Maryland - March 2017

The Eagles of Aerie & Auxiliary #2883 have been longtime supporters of the Interfaith Community Food Pantry on Cumberland Street. One of the fundraising projects has been the Christmas Auction, held annually at the Aerie home on McMullen Highway. In a recent presentation, a check for $3,500 was presented to John Minnich, Pantry Treasurer, and Bill Stewart, Pantry Manager. This gift was made possible due to the joint efforts of the Officers and members of both the Aerie and Auxiliary for the 2016 Christmas Auction. Wilmington, Ohio - February 2017

Hilde-Floyd Eagles Auxiliary #1224 made the holiday season brighter for a group of local organizations. Through their Caring for Kids campaign, the Auxiliary donated a combined total of $3,500 to Clinton County Youth Council, Harvest of Gold, Heather’s Hope, Kids & Company, Kinship Care, Stepping Stones Ranch and Stillwater Stables.

Throughout the year, the Auxiliary hosts a variety of fundraisers earmarked for the campaign including the annual Car & Bike Show, various raffles, 50/50 drawings and more.

“We are always thrilled to be able to make these donations at the end of the year to our local organizations” said Auxiliary President Christie Siders. “Our goal is to target groups that have to provide their own funding. Year after year, they all tell us how thankful they are that we keep them on our radar. We are more than happy to have the ability to help.”

Louisville, Kentucky - February 2017

Derby City Aerie #2173 recently welcomed Grand Worthy President Jerry L. Sullivan. Sullivan helped present a $5,000 grant to Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS). Sullivan is pictured presenting the grant to VIPS Director of Development Heather Benson. In front is Isiah Scroggins, grandson of Kentucky State President-Elect Jim Bosworth. Scroggins attends VIPS. While in town, Sullivan also joined the Derby City Aerie’s Louisville Slugger Club and was awarded with his own personalized bat.

Sutherlin, Virginia - February 2017

Piedmont Eagles #4420 delivered several bags of Christmas goods to the Pittsylvania School Board. Eagles members go out and shop for the kids each year, then bag up the gifts to be presented to area children in need. Illinois - February 2017

Illinois State Auxiliary President Juanita Shamhart of Decatur #507 recently presented a $5,000 grant to Cancer Care Specialist of Illinois in Decatur. Shamhart selected the program as her state project for the 2016-17 fraternal year. The funds will be used to support cancer-related activities and programs in Central and Southern Illinois.
