7 February Bradenton, Florida - January 2023 February 7, 2023 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Florida 0 When Hurricane Ian came to town on September 28, 2022, Eagle Village suffered extensive damage. Most of the retired Eagle residents were without power for a full week. First to respond with aid was Bradenton Aerie #3171 and the Eagle Riders of #3171. The Riders donated $500 and the Aerie matched their donation, giving $500 plus donating food and supplies. Eagle Village Council members Tom Hejra and Sally Whipple presented certificates of appreciation from the Village residents to Aerie President Ed Rayburn and Eagle Riders President Rick Killion. Jamestown, North Dakota - January 2023 James River Eagles Aerie #2337 recently presented a check for $20,000 to the Jamestown Rural Fire Department for the purchase of a new pumper truck. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - January 2023 Lake Havasu City Eagles #4299 presented representatives from the DES (Department of Economic Security) with a check for $12,000 to assist Lake Havasu City families with gift cards for Christmas. They also donated more than 70 gifts to Haven House for area children. Lebanon, Ohio - January 2023 Warren County Eagles #1395 recently donated $1,500 to the Pink Ribbon Girls, an organization which helps breast cancer survivors with transportation to appointments, provides house cleaning services and meal delivery in addition to other support during their recovery. Sutherlin, Virginia - January 2023 Piedmont Eagle Riders #4420 held their 13th Annual Dean Ferris Memorial Ride last fall, benefiting the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association for the 11th year in a row.
