12 December Bridgewater, New Jersey - July 2018 December 12, 2018 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles New Jersey 0 Last year on September 22 and 23, Somerset Eagle Riders #2137 hosted their second annual Eagle Riders Jamboree to raise money for Soldiers’ Angels. The two-day event featured a motorcycle ride, field games, homemade food, bonfire, raffles, and more. #2137 was able to raise $20,000 during that weekend. Multiple Eagle Riders from various Aeries helped coordinate with the event as well; including Rensselaer #4446, Middletown #544, Sleepy Hollow #1042, Norwalk #588, and Plymouth #546. Soldiers’ Angels is a non-profit that provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families. #2137 plans on hosting this annual event again on September 21-22, 2018. Apache Junction, Arizona - July 2018 Lost Dutchman Aerie and Auxiliary #3850 donated $5,100 to their local youth program for the Apache Junction Unified School District. Abbotsford, British Columbia - July 2018 Through all of Abbotsford Aerie #2726’s hard work and efforts over a few months, they were able to raise $16,281 for the Honour House Society. The Honour House Society provides a home away from home for Canadian Forces and Emergency Services personnel as they receive medical treatment in the Metro Vancouver Region. Campbell River, British Columbia - July 2018 Campbell River Eagle Riders #3097 made a $3,000 donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada and Campbell River Search and Rescue. The Eagle Riders raised the money during their annual poker run, and the Kidney Foundation plans on using the donation to help with overall funding of activities. Maple Ridge, British Columbia - July 2018 Maple Ridge Auxiliary #2831 gave a donation of $1,250 to Maple Ridge’s Community Services. The money will be used for their Youth Restorative Justice program. Gainesville, Florida - July 2018 Eagle Riders #4385 gave a gift of $50,000 to University of Florida’s College of Medicine, to help find a cure for front temporal dementia, the second-most-frequent form of early-onset dementia after Alzheimer’s disease.
