Leo and Flor Mahinay and Ana Espena co-chaired the most successful function in years, raising $2,055 through their hard work, generous donations of others and awesome volunteers. Needles, California - January 2017 Needles Aerie #2599 raised $380 for the City of Hope Research and Treatment Center with an American Flag raffle. The beautiful wooden flag was created and donated by Frank Rodriguez of Barstow. Winners of this distinguished flag were Al Townsend, Kathy Wofford and Kay Luisi. They generously redonated the flag back to the Aerie in order to continue raising money. Needles Aerie #2599 will continue to sell raffle tickets and will pick a new winner at a yet to be determined date. Money raised will be added to the original amount and donated to City of Hope. Azusa, California - May 2017 Azusa #2810 held its annual Kentucky Derby fundraiser on May 6, raising $2,000 for the Lew Reed Spinal Cord Injury Fund.
