14 April Castlewood, Virginia - January 2020 April 14, 2020 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Virginia 0 Clinch River Aerie #3305 held their 7th Annual White Christmas event, where they provided ‘Christmas’ for 160 children from 45 local families in need. Each child was given a new outfit, socks, underwear, pajamas, a coat, a blanket, a pair of shoes, and a toy from their wish list. The family was also given a complete turkey dinner and extra food to get through the days the children are not in school. In addition to what the Aerie provided, Santa handed out treat bags and stuffed animals to the children during the event as well. From the January 2020 edition of People Helping People. Sutherlin, Virginia - January 2017 Piedmont Eagles #4420 made their annual visit to Pittsylvania County School Board Office on Monday, Nov. 21, to deliver 26 dinners for distribution to families for Thanksgiving. Members of the Eagles shopped for, packed the dinners in boxes, then loaded them into the group’s trailer for the ride to Chatham. They are donating an additional two $500 payments per month to go towards food for the Storey County Senior Center. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - January 2020 Lake Havasu Eagles #4299’s Spinal Cord chairmen Bob and Penny Lee presented a check to Dr. Lipshitz of Phoenix Children's Hospital Traumatic Brain Research Unit in the amount of $5,728.50.
