He had a goal of $20,000, but he was able to raise a total of $28,422.93. The Grand Aerie gave a grant of $5,000 and the New Brighton Eagles made a gambling donation of $8,000, but overall the balance was raised by the members of New Brighton Eagles #3718. Hanson raised the money by cooking burgers, hosting steak fry’s, live auctions, grab bags, and contributed personal donations during his year as State President.
