Blairsville, PA - January 2021

Auxiliary President Marlene Kerley of Blairsville #1488 chose the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) as her charity last year. CORE’s mission is to encourage people to donate organs and tissue for transplants in order to save and improve lives. CORE held special meaning for Marlene as she donated one of her kidneys to her sister, Bonnie Confer, in 1999 and also has a brother, Bill Hebenthal, who received a liver transplant in 2003. A Garden of Life Party was held last year with activities including a dinner, raffle of six large donated items, 50/50 drawings, over 80 donated raffle baskets and more.
