Over the past 20 years, #3204 has donated a total of $100,000 to the Eastern Virginia Medical School Diabetes Research Center. Colonial Beach, Virginia - September 2019 Colonial Beach Eagles #4315 was able to donate $15,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Together, the Aerie and Auxiliary planned several events over a 3-week period to raise the funds. They held a bucket collection drive, with the Sheriff’s department’s permission, and collected nearly $3,000 in 4 hours with the help of 7 volunteers. They raised an additional $2,000 from a brown bag auction, and they hosted a benefit dinner for St. Judes’s, where they raised $5,000 during the benefit. The last of the funds came from a $5,000 grant. Garrisonville, Virginia - September 2018 Wayne Clark Aerie #4488 held a poker run and bike wash that raised over $4,700 for a local charity supporting childhood cancer called the Fairy Godmother Project. The FGP is a nonprofit and their mission is to ease the burden of day to day life for families facing all phases of a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Colonial Beach, Virginia - April 2017 Colonial Beach Eagles #4315 made a generous donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital last month. As a result of months of planning by benefit committee chairman, Bill Hall, co-chair Rebecca Kinson, and committee members Debbie Bennett, Donna Barnette, Patricia Cochran, Debra Garcia, Carrie Keister, Ginger Roth, Sharon Schellin, and Linda Watts, the F.O.E. was able to donate $12,232 to this worthy cause. Committee members ran several events to raise funds, including a brown bag auction, buffets during football games, and a prime rib dinner. This is an annual fundraising effort for the Colonial Beach Eagles. Strasburg, Virginia - March 2018 -Massanutten Aerie 4186 donates $830, which is enough to send two local boy scouts to camp next summer. -Massanutten Aerie donates $220 to help send children from our local high school to the national FFA conference. -Massanutten Aerie donates $220 to help send children from our local high school on a trip to Philadelphia with the music department.
