15 November Colonial Beach, Virginia - September 2019 November 15, 2019 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Virginia 0 Colonial Beach Eagles #4315 was able to donate $15,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Together, the Aerie and Auxiliary planned several events over a 3-week period to raise the funds. They held a bucket collection drive, with the Sheriff’s department’s permission, and collected nearly $3,000 in 4 hours with the help of 7 volunteers. They raised an additional $2,000 from a brown bag auction, and they hosted a benefit dinner for St. Judes’s, where they raised $5,000 during the benefit. Sutherlin, Virginia - September 2019 Eagle Riders #4420 participated in the Dean Ferris Memorial Ride fundraiser to benefit the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association. The Eagle Riders made a contribution of $19,511.78, and over the 8 years that this event has been held, a cumulative total of $144,511.77 has been raised to help the victims of cancer in their community. Colonial Beach, Virginia - April 2017 Colonial Beach Eagles #4315 made a generous donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital last month. As a result of months of planning by benefit committee chairman, Bill Hall, co-chair Rebecca Kinson, and committee members Debbie Bennett, Donna Barnette, Patricia Cochran, Debra Garcia, Carrie Keister, Ginger Roth, Sharon Schellin, and Linda Watts, the F.O.E. was able to donate $12,232 to this worthy cause. Committee members ran several events to raise funds, including a brown bag auction, buffets during football games, and a prime rib dinner. This is an annual fundraising effort for the Colonial Beach Eagles. Virginia Beach, Virginia - November 2018 Virginia Beach Eagles #3204’s Auxiliary President Debbie Hall and Aerie President Bill Singleton were presented with the 2018 Eastern Virginia Medical School Outstanding Community Champion Award. Over the past 20 years, #3204 has donated a total of $100,000 to the Eastern Virginia Medical School Diabetes Research Center. Okahumpka, Florida - September 2019 During the year of 2019, Lake County Aerie and Auxiliary #4273 so far have donated a collective $61,000 to six local nonprofit charities; the Leesburg Food Bank, Camp Boggy Creek, Haven of Lake and Sumter Counties, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, New Vision for Independence, and Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation.
