The money was raised through the members’ participation in the Auxiliary Christmas Auction and the annual Christmas Dinner. Related Articles Frederick, Maryland - February 2018 Frederick Aerie #1067 held their annual membership Christmas Party, asking all attendees to make a donation of $5 to benefit a local charity, the Heartly House. Members were also asked to donate a wrapped gift to be auctioned off during the party, also benefiting Heartly House. Thanks to these efforts and a 50/50, $918 dollars were collected. The Aerie approved to add $82 to the money, making a total donation of $1,000 for Heartly House, which provides comprehensive services for victims and survivors of intimate partner abuse, sexual assault and child abuse. Cresaptown, Maryland - July 2018 - For her 2017-2018 charity project, Madam President Kathy Hare of Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 presented a $10,000 check to the Kenny Alkire Family Foundation with the help of the Aerie and Auxiliary. In memory of Kenny Alkire, the foundation will use the money to serve children and young adults who are affected by cancer. - Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 donated $3,715 to the Greater Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Associate. The Auxiliary raised the money by hosting a fundraiser that included a vendor show, ham dinner, bake sale, and a Chinese auction. - Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 made a donation of $2,750 to the Breast Cancer Patients Assistance Fund of the Western Maryland Health System Foundation. Cresaptown, Maryland - February 2020 Cresaptown Eagles #2883 paid for the cost of shipping to help to send six care packages to Billy Stevey, who is serving his third tour in Afghanistan. The Aerie and Auxiliary also held their annual auction to benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry. They were able to make $1,300 donation to the cause. Florida - February 2018 On Dec. 1, more than 70 men and women from the Florida State Aerie & Auxiliary enjoyed an afternoon reception hosted by the Florida Hospital Foundation. During the reception, the FOE was recognized for attaining a place of honor on the Foundation’s Lifetime Donor Hall of Fame by exceeding one half-million dollars in contributions. David Collis, President of the Florida Hospital Foundation, told the group that in appreciation for the outstanding achievement, the hospital renamed four key rooms within the facility in honor of the F.O.E. They are as follows: FOE Vitals Room in the Florida Hospital for Children FOE Library in the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute FOE Conference Room in the Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute FOE Creation Consult Room in the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute During the ceremony, Collis also presented Florida Past State Madam President Michelle McCarthy with a special plaque in honor of her continued dedication and generosity to Florida Hospital. Merrill, Wisconsin - February 2018 Merrill Eagles #584 recently presented a series of eight donations to local groups with money raised from the annual Boomer Memorial Raffle and grants from the FOE Charity Foundation. These donations include: $500 to Never Forgotten Honor Flight.
