Evansville, Indiana - January 2017 River City Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #4023 made a donation of $1,000 to Vanderburgh County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). The organization advocates and serves as a voice in court for kids who have been abused or neglected. CASA currently serves 491 children. Vincennes, Indiana - Sept. 2017 Vincennes Auxiliary #384 recently presented a grant for $1,000 to Good Samaritan Hospital for Think Pink during the Think Pink soccer game between South Knox and Lincoln. South Knox High players Lexi Wilson and Audrey Hislip presented the check during the game. The game was dedicated to raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness through the Think Pink program. Evansville, Indiana - November 2017 The Ladies’ Auxiliaries of Evansville #427 and River City #4023 joined together for a bake sale event to benefit the Weinhandl family. Two-year-old Carlee battles catastrophic epilepsy and cerebral palsy while her father Josh, is recovering from a devastating motorcycle accident. The all-day event included auctions, food trucks, games, cornhole, raffles and 50/50 drawings with live music and more. The event raised more than $5,500 for the family. Illinois - September 2017 Blue Island Auxiliary #1332 member Janice Soria was inducted into the Illinois State Auxiliary Hall of Fame during the State Convention on June 13. Janice routinely goes above and beyond to serve the Illinois State Eagles and the sisters of Illinois were proud to bestow this prestigious honor upon her for her efforts. Inverness, Florida - Sept. 2017 Citrus Eagles #3992 recently awarded their first annual scholarship to Citrus High senior Miranda Scott. The following criteria were used to determine the first recipient: 1. Student need not be one of 4.0 grade average but one who applies himself/ herself diligently at all times. 2. In the interest of our motto, “ people helping people”, the student need be one who never disrupts the classroom, who never engages in bullying practices but may even be one who champions the bullied. A student who volunteers should be a serious candidate. 3. A student who’s attendance is sterling with no unexcused absences. 4. A student who never shows disrespect in any way to our country, I.E. The National Anthem, our flag, our military , first responders and/or law enforcement officials. 5. A student who never shows disrespect toward his/ her teachers. 6.
