28 April Falls Creek, Pennsylvania - April 2017 April 28, 2017 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Pennsylvania 0 Falls Creek Auxiliary #965 shines a light on numerous charities with more than $6,000 in donations for 2016. The Auxiliary dedicated its time, talents and caring hearts to these worthy charities with one-on-one service. The humble sisters of this small town have personally responded when a family was grieving the loss of a child who died by suicide. Members also take the “Question, Persuade, Refer” certification given by the Clearfield/Jefferson Suicide Prevention Team in order to increase their knowledge base and help to decrease the number of deaths by suicide in our community. Joining with the Prevention Team, #965 members walk and take part in the activities at the Annual Suicide Prevention walk for Clearfield/Jefferson Counties. Along with monetary donations, these ladies have become a part of the life story of a child named Shea who has been diagnosed with cancer. They keep in touch with her recovery through Facebook at “Pray for Shea.” Visiting those who are sick with short term and long term illness has become a part of their goals to live by. Their Auxiliary gives so much of their time and energy to children, whether it be through fishing rodeos, Easter egg hunts, festivals in the community and their own #965 Kids Christmas Party. Their members reach out to others far beyond the lines of Falls Creek. From the April 2017 edition of People Helping People.
