14 April Fond du Lac, Wisconsin - January 2020 April 14, 2020 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Wisconsin 0 Fond Du Lac Eagles #270 Wisconsin opened its hall to co-host the Fond du Lac Community Christmas Dinner program on Christmas Day. This year the program celebrated its 20th year and the 4th year it has been held at the Eagles Club. The Community Christmas Dinner is free, open to all, so that no one has to be alone on Christmas. This year 608 meals were served which included dine-in and delivered meals for the home-bound. This program is completely volunteer driven and receives its funding from donations and fundraisers. Related Articles Fond du Lac, Wisconsin - April 2019 • The Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie #270’s Anglers Fishing Club offered a free breakfast to the local police officers, sheriff’s deputies and firemen working on the morning of April 7 as a way to thank them for their service to our community. • During the Fond du Lac Aerie #270 State Officers Party, Wi. State President Daniel Scheer presented Mary Kleman of the Children’s Hospitals of Wisconsin a check for $2,700 from a grant towards his State Project, Children’s Abuse Prevention. Daniel partnered with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Fox Valley for his State Project to help local area children in need of help. Kleman stated that a lot of times, to help the child, they are actually helping families overcome issues to provide a stable home for the family. Another check from the Aerie was presented to Scheer to go towards his State Project, which has raised almost $12,000 so far this year, separate from the grant noted above. Fond du Lac, Wisconsin - April 2021 On March 13, the Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie held their third annual Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser in conjunction with their Eagle State Officers Party. The proceeds from the event went to the Aerie & Auxiliary State Presidents projects. The Chili Cook-Off and other raffles raised $680. Wisconsin State Eagles Aerie President Kevin Keller’s project is Wisconsin Veterans Network and he received a check for $782, while State Eagle Auxiliary President Alice Janquart’s project is Rawhide, receiving a check for $665. Our “Celebrity Judges” were Lt. Rick Faris, Eng. Mike Spencer and FF/PM Andrea Hoksbergen from the Fond du Lac Fire Department. This year's Cook-Off winner was Chris Hartwig and 2019’s winner was Mark Schaefer. 2020’s event was canceled due to Covid-19. Brisbane, California - January 2020 Brisbane Eagles #3255’s Past State Madam President’s Annie Good and Sandra Jones escorted a pair of sisters, after they received $100 to spend, during the 2019 San Jose Eagles Children's Christmas Shopping Spree. Manitowoc, Wisconsin - June 2020 Manitowoc Eagles #706 presented a check in the amount of $1,140 to The Eternal Flame and Veterans Memorial. A Flag Day service was held at the club on June 14th and local Vets were invited. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - January 2020 Lake Havasu Eagles #4299’s Spinal Cord chairmen Bob and Penny Lee presented a check to Dr. Lipshitz of Phoenix Children's Hospital Traumatic Brain Research Unit in the amount of $5,728.50. Santee, California - January 2020 Santee-El Cajon Aerie #3973 presented a $5,947.42 check to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation chapter in San Diego, California.
