Related Articles Lake Havasu City, Arizona - July 2020 Bob and Penny Lee, co-chairs for the Heart fund at Lake Havasu Eagles #4299 were proud to send a check in the amount of $14,520.10 to support Phoenix Children's Hospital Heart Research. Lincoln City, Oregon - July 2020 North Lincoln Eagles #2576 came together to provide meals for seniors and compromised citizens for quarantined individuals during this pandemic. Aerie member and caterer Frank Napoleon recognized the need for providing meals, and worked with Grill 1646 owner Dan, and Auxiliary President Bahni Thayer to put their plan to action. They coordinated a crew of about eight volunteers, and was able to prepare 60 meals for the first week, that were delivered by a few drivers. Now, they are currently preparing and delivering 250 meals a week, with over 20 volunteers assisting. #2576’s Aerie President Dave Randleman has also been taking the calls for meals, and schedules the deliveries. Through generous support and contributions, they plan to continue their meal delivery program until September. To date, more than 7,000 meals have been prepared and delivered by Aerie #2576 and their volunteers. Junction City, Kansas - July 2020 Junction City Kansas Auxiliary #830 held a Bingo tournament to help financially support their community. During Bingo, Madam President Rhonda Wilson presented a $5,000 check to her charity, Wheels Of Hope, and Bingo Chairman Linda Sullivan presented a check for $5,000 to Quality Play Park to help build on to the local park for the children. MP Wilson also presented Friends of Animals with a check for $1,000 and gave $1,500 to their Local Food Pantry. Huntsville, Alabama - July 2018 Huntsville Aerie #3263 donated $6,850 to support Hudson Alpha’s Impacting ALS Project, Memory & Mobility Project for neurological diseases. Hudson Alpha is a nonprofit institute where scientists, educators and entrepreneurs are creating a healthier, more sustainable world through genomics. Apache Junction, Arizona - July 2018 Lost Dutchman Aerie and Auxiliary #3850 donated $5,100 to their local youth program for the Apache Junction Unified School District. Abbotsford, British Columbia - July 2018 Through all of Abbotsford Aerie #2726’s hard work and efforts over a few months, they were able to raise $16,281 for the Honour House Society. The Honour House Society provides a home away from home for Canadian Forces and Emergency Services personnel as they receive medical treatment in the Metro Vancouver Region.
