26 February Imlay City, Michigan - February 2019 February 26, 2019 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Michigan 0 Over the past few months Leprechaun Eagles #4082 has made multiple charitable contributions to different organizations; they gave $1,500 to the foster kids in Lapeer county, donated $800 to the Marlette Hospice Center, and during the holidays #4082 held a benefit for three charities which included Justice for Lily, Holiday Depot, and the Shriners. From the live auction and donations from the Aerie, Auxiliary, and Eagle Riders, they were able to raise $4,300 for Justice for Lily, a pickup truck full of toys and $740 went to the Holiday Depot, and the proceeds from a mitten, scarf, and hat tree sales went to the Shriner children. The gifts they were able to collect included 2,069 diapers, 1,916 baby wipes, 15 pairs of boots, 43 pairs of socks, 50 books, 28 sleepers, 5 winter coats, and 2 snow suits. More donations contained clothes, crayons, food and formula, a $100 gift card from Family Fare and a $225 donation from the Oscoda Eagles. #4237 was also sponsoring a Soup Cook Off that day where all members and guests enjoyed 11 different types of soups, sandwiches and salads provided by the club. The Baby Pantry was founded in 2002 by Carol Schmidt. Carol passed away a few years ago and the name was changed to "Carol's Baby Pantry," to honor her memory and her dedication to our communities' young families. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - February 2019 Golden eagle chairman Lisa Fournier of Lake Havasu City Eagles #4299 presented the Lake Havasu Meals on Wheels program with a check for $1,500. Edgewater, Florida - February 2019 New Smyrna – Edgewater Eagles #4242 donated $3,000 to the AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach Foundation to support their cardiac care, cancer services and diabetes programs. #4242 donated an additional $4,000 to two other charities during this month as well. Gardner, Massachusetts - February 2019 Hillcrest Eagles #747 made a $600 donation to the Montachuestt Suicide Prevention Task Force. They were able to raise the money from their Halloween Bash held last October. The money will be used to help fund a myriad of suicide prevention programs and educational opportunities. Cle Elum, Washington - February 2019 Cle Elum Auxiliary #649 and members of the Eagles Craft Club based at Cle Elum donated $1,000 to the Open Clinic, where they provide free health care, mental health care, and dental services to the residents of Kittitas County in Washington State. Wausau, Wisconsin - February 2019 Wausau Aerie #251 held an Ice Fishing Tournament to benefit Wausau Metro Adult’s Special Olympics.
