Citrus Eagles #3992 recently awarded their first annual scholarship to Citrus High senior Miranda Scott. The following criteria were used to determine the first recipient:

1. Student need not be one of 4.0 grade average but one who applies himself/ herself diligently at all times.

2. In the interest of our motto, “ people helping people”, the student need be one who never disrupts the classroom, who never engages in bullying practices but may even be one who champions the bullied. A student who volunteers should be a serious candidate.

3. A student who’s attendance is sterling with no unexcused absences.

4. A student who never shows disrespect in any way to our country, I.E. The National Anthem, our flag, our military , first responders and/or law enforcement officials.

5. A student who never shows disrespect toward his/ her teachers.

6. All things being equal, a student coming from a less than affluent family who may genuinely need financial help to move to the next level of education.
