1 February Junction City, Kansas - January 2021 February 1, 2021 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Kansas 0 Junction City Eagles #830 adopted 150 local Christmas Angel Tree kids from the Salvation Army. Each child had a wish list and up to $100 was spent on each child. This was their 11th year adopting kids to help make their Christmas morning a little brighter. Kansas City, Kansas - March 2017 Wyandotte #87 held its 31st Annual Camp Discovery Juvenile Diabetes Bowling Tournament on Feb. 19. Kansas State Presidents Randy Holding of Junction City #830 and Dawn Couch of Wyandotte #87 named Camp Discovery as their State Charity for the year. A total of $4,224 was raised. The tournament was started by Wyandotte members Ed and Doris Willsey, the parents of Shirley and Sheila. Junction City, Kansas - July 2020 Junction City Kansas Auxiliary #830 held a Bingo tournament to help financially support their community. During Bingo, Madam President Rhonda Wilson presented a $5,000 check to her charity, Wheels Of Hope, and Bingo Chairman Linda Sullivan presented a check for $5,000 to Quality Play Park to help build on to the local park for the children. MP Wilson also presented Friends of Animals with a check for $1,000 and gave $1,500 to their Local Food Pantry. Blairsville, PA - January 2021 Auxiliary President Marlene Kerley of Blairsville #1488 chose the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) as her charity last year. CORE’s mission is to encourage people to donate organs and tissue for transplants in order to save and improve lives. CORE held special meaning for Marlene as she donated one of her kidneys to her sister, Bonnie Confer, in 1999 and also has a brother, Bill Hebenthal, who received a liver transplant in 2003. A Garden of Life Party was held last year with activities including a dinner, raffle of six large donated items, 50/50 drawings, over 80 donated raffle baskets and more. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - January 2017 The Lake Havasu City Eagles held their Miss Mess 2016 event, raising $1,280 for cancer causes. Arkansas - January 2017 Arkansas Past State Worthy President Paul Szecsi and Past State Madam President Georgianna McKown presented a total of $52,460.58 to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital – Angel One. The money was raised during the 2015-2016 Eagle year to help fund the helicopter transport project.
