12 December Maryland - July 2018 December 12, 2018 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Maryland 0 - Maryland State Aerie and Auxiliary raised over $34,000 for Alzheimer's Association Greater Maryland Chapter during JPSMP Mary Wilson and JPSWP Tommy Booth’s joint State Presidents Charity for the 2017 – 2018 Fraternal year. - 2016-2017 State President Charlie Spiker presented a check for $28,226 to the Western Maryland Health System Foundation. Spiker named the WMHS Schwab Family Cancer Center as his designated charity. The check represents the fundraising efforts of the Aerie and Auxiliary members of Cresaptown #2883 and Frostburg #1273, and the Maryland State Aerie. Related Articles Cresaptown, Maryland - July 2018 - For her 2017-2018 charity project, Madam President Kathy Hare of Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 presented a $10,000 check to the Kenny Alkire Family Foundation with the help of the Aerie and Auxiliary. In memory of Kenny Alkire, the foundation will use the money to serve children and young adults who are affected by cancer. - Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 donated $3,715 to the Greater Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Associate. The Auxiliary raised the money by hosting a fundraiser that included a vendor show, ham dinner, bake sale, and a Chinese auction. - Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 made a donation of $2,750 to the Breast Cancer Patients Assistance Fund of the Western Maryland Health System Foundation. Huntsville, Alabama - July 2018 Huntsville Aerie #3263 donated $6,850 to support Hudson Alpha’s Impacting ALS Project, Memory & Mobility Project for neurological diseases. Hudson Alpha is a nonprofit institute where scientists, educators and entrepreneurs are creating a healthier, more sustainable world through genomics. Apache Junction, Arizona - July 2018 Lost Dutchman Aerie and Auxiliary #3850 donated $5,100 to their local youth program for the Apache Junction Unified School District. Abbotsford, British Columbia - July 2018 Through all of Abbotsford Aerie #2726’s hard work and efforts over a few months, they were able to raise $16,281 for the Honour House Society. The Honour House Society provides a home away from home for Canadian Forces and Emergency Services personnel as they receive medical treatment in the Metro Vancouver Region. Campbell River, British Columbia - July 2018 Campbell River Eagle Riders #3097 made a $3,000 donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada and Campbell River Search and Rescue. The Eagle Riders raised the money during their annual poker run, and the Kidney Foundation plans on using the donation to help with overall funding of activities. Maple Ridge, British Columbia - July 2018 Maple Ridge Auxiliary #2831 gave a donation of $1,250 to Maple Ridge’s Community Services.
