30 March Maryland - March 2017 March 30, 2017 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Maryland 0 2015-2016 State Madam President Diana Booth of Frederick #1067 toured Maryland during her year to raise money for Family, Resource, Information & Education Network for Down Syndrome (F.R.I.E.N.D.S.), collecting more than $26,000. From the March 2017 People Helping People Newsletter Related Articles Cresaptown, Maryland - March 2017 The Eagles of Aerie & Auxiliary #2883 have been longtime supporters of the Interfaith Community Food Pantry on Cumberland Street. One of the fundraising projects has been the Christmas Auction, held annually at the Aerie home on McMullen Highway. In a recent presentation, a check for $3,500 was presented to John Minnich, Pantry Treasurer, and Bill Stewart, Pantry Manager. This gift was made possible due to the joint efforts of the Officers and members of both the Aerie and Auxiliary for the 2016 Christmas Auction. Brisbane, California - March 2017 On Feb. 15, Brisbane Eagles #3255 raised $775 for the Max Baer Heart Fund. Jefferson City, Missouri - March 2017 Grand Worthy President Jerry L. Sullivan recently visited Jefferson City, Mo., Eagles #2693. Jerry received a $200 donation to his charity, Lupus research, from the Aerie and a check for $100 from the Auxiliary. Marceline, Missouri - March 2017 During his time in Missouri, Grand Worthy President Jerry L. Sullivan stopped into Marceline Eagles #726 to visit with Aerie and Auxiliary members. The group there presented Jerry with a check for $500 to put towards his charity, Lupus research. Gulf Shores, Alabama - March 2017 Coastal Alabama #4549 took part in this year’s Mardi Gras Parade in Gulf Shores. The Coastal Alabama Eagles were officially instituted last year and have been working hard to get involved in a variety of community activities to increase their presence. Spring Hill, Florida - March 2017 On March 10, Spring Hill #4208 Eagle Riders members Diane Irwin, Barbara Cyr and Annie Krysheski presented a check for $2,000 from the 3rd Annual Terry Irwin Run held Jan. 21, to the Fisher House, associated with the James A. Haley Hospital in Tampa. The following day, Aerie and Auxiliary members joined the more than 1,000 people who took part in the Hunger Walk. Spring Hill members walked and raised $417 dollars for the walk, which generated more than $75,000 total to help fight hunger in Pasco County by providing Pack-A-Sack food for kids and hot meals from Metropolitan Ministries.
