28 October Merced, California - September 2020 October 28, 2020 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles California 0 Merced Eagles #2194, was informed that a neighboring ranch was supporting the Creek Fire victims by providing pens for animals and space for campers, tents, etc. for those who have been evacuated from the fire area. As Merced is out of the fire area, the Aerie and Auxiliary assisted by providing a donation of $1,000 for cost of pens, and food for animals and the people displaced by the fire. The meals were made possible through the generous cash donations of Aerie and Auxiliary members. Michigan - September 2020 Michigan State Fraternal Order of Eagles chose the Michigan Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for their charity partnership last year. State Worthy Jr. Past President George Schafer and the Michigan locations were able to raise more than $85,000 to support their mission. Fredericktown, Missouri - September 2020 Fredericktown #3758 is sponsoring a food drive in the community, and donated to Cooper Durrs’ educational trip after he overcame long-term health issues. Durrs’ mother also hosted a benefit, and the Eagles covered the entertainment for the event. Beatrice, Nebraska - September 2020 Beatrice Eagles #531 recently donated $50 checks to each first responder within Gage County, with the amount totaling $4,910 that was distributed to three organizations. They also included a letter to each department explaining that anyone on the front lines and the support staff are an important part of Gage County, and shared the motto of ‘People Helping People.’ Virginia - September 2020 All of Fraternal Order of Eagle locations in the state of Virginia collectively raised $38,013.30 for the Guadalupe Free Clinic as a part of charity project for Llyod “Tommy” Edwards, member of #4315 and the 2019-2020 Virginia State President. The different locations raised money by holding various events during Edwards’s presidency.
