11 May North Platte, Nebraska - March 2018 May 11, 2018 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Nebraska 0 North Platte Aerie #2839 has donated $1,000 to the North Platte Area Ready to Serve Volunteer Program to help offset the cost of books. Now in its tenth year, the books purchased are distributed to the North Platte public preschools and elementary schools, McDaid, Head Start and Our Redeemer Lutheran School each year. ElDorado Springs, Colorado - March 2018 Tri Lakes Aerie #4279 hosted its annual charity auction where they raised $7,063. The proceeds will go to High Hopes, which assists cancer patients with travel expenses. Norwalk, Connecticut - March 2018 Aerie #558 hosted a Winter Luau Dance Party, where they raised 1,000 for the Jimmy Durant Children’s Fund. Evansville, Indiana - March 2018 River City Eagles Auxiliary #4023 presented The Arc of Evansville with a grant worth $1,000. The funding will go toward purchasing art supplies that will be used at the Arc’s Child Life Center, which serves children age 12 and under, both with and without disabilities. Leavenworth, Kansas - March 2018 Leavenworth Aerie #55, home of South Central Regional President James "Jim" Rodgers, hosted a reception in his honor. Many fellow Eagles from across Kansas and Missouri were on hand to help him celebrate. During the night, money raised for the FOE Diabetes Research Center, which is Rodgers' Regional charity. The Aerie donated $5000.00 with a guarantee to match up to that amount raised for the Regional charity in Missouri & Kansas. Proceeds were raised during their last BINGO night, all of which are being directed into the Missouri Baptist Hospital Cancer Fund.
