Related Articles Ladysmith, British Columbia - November 2017 Ladysmith Eagles Auxiliary #2101 Madam President Sheila Williams and Madam Vice President Arlene Neale presented a check to Louise Baines of the local food bank for $4,037.25 along with 1,000 pounds of food collected by the Eagles. Abbotsford, British Columbia - November 2018 Abbotsford Aerie #2726 donated $1,500 to Cops for Cancer. The money will cover the funds to send one child to camp Goodtimes – which is a cancer camp for kids. The funds were raised during a dinner held for police and first responders who attend #2726’s annual bike tour to raise money for kids with cancer. This is the tenth year the Aerie has held this event. Maple Ridge, British Columbia - November 2019 Maple Ridge Eagles #2831 presented $500 to Jennifer Sheehan and Katrina Haintz of Eric Langton Elementary School in support of their student lunch & breakfast program. These funds were raised during their annual golf tournament and bbq fundraiser. They’ve been able to donate $2,350 over the last four years. Debbie Kennedy and Laura Butler, Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Maple Ridge Eagles #2831. These funds were made available by a grant from the Grand Aerie, to be used along with the $6,000 donated by the local Aerie & Auxiliary in July, for the purchase of SD Resectoscope cameras which are used in Bladder Cancer surgery. Penticton, British Columbia - May 2017 The Aerie and Auxiliary of Penticton #4281 held their annual Charity Check Giving night, presenting checks totaling more than $50,000 to 12 local charities including the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation’s patient care tower. Penticton, British Columbia - May 2018 The Penticton Eagles #4281 have donated a combined $12,700 to Penticton Regional Hospital, including almost $3,700 to the SOS Medical Foundation’s efforts to support the delivery of quality health services. The funding will also cover areas such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Cardio, Diabetes and Kidneys, and the Moog & Friends Hospice House. Since 2015, the Penticton Eagles #4281 have now donated more than $45,000 to the Medical Foundation’s tower campaign. The provincial government has also approved the naming of the “Fraternal Order of Eagles Room” in the new tower, set to open in April 2019. Penticton, British Columbia - October 2019 Penticton Auxiliary #4821 presented a local student with $500 educational scholarship. Penticton Eagles #4281’s Vice President Stan Binns presented a $525 check to Tracy Van Raes from Starfish Pack of Penticton.
