Virginia Beach, Virginia - November 2018 Virginia Beach Eagles #3204’s Auxiliary President Debbie Hall and Aerie President Bill Singleton were presented with the 2018 Eastern Virginia Medical School Outstanding Community Champion Award. Over the past 20 years, #3204 has donated a total of $100,000 to the Eastern Virginia Medical School Diabetes Research Center. Blairsville, Pennsylvania - November 2017 Blairsville Eagle Riders #1488 were hard at work during the riding season, hosting a trio of benefit runs and making numerous community donations raising $12,253. In terms of total donations from the Eagle Riders, Aerie and Auxiliary, Blairsville is near eclipsing $20,000 total in 2017. South Central Regional - November 2017 During the annual South Central Regional Conference this fall, Regional Charity Directors presented checks for the money raised by them as directors including: $3,720 for the FOE Diabetes Research Center $1,414 for the Vicki Welch Ovarian Cancer Fund $150 for the Art Ehrmann Cancer Fund $370 for the D.D. Dunlap Kidney Fund $510 for the GMP’s Charity, Tri-State Honor Flight $150 for the Golden Eagle, Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s Funds $140 for the Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund $370 for the Lew Reed Spinal Cord Injury Fund $201 for the Max Baer Heart Fund $366 for the Memorial Foundation $648 for the Robert Hansen Diabetes Fund The Region also presented grants for $5,000 from the Grand Aerie and the Kansas Past State Presidents. Sutherlin, Virginia - January 2017 Piedmont Eagles #4420 made their annual visit to Pittsylvania County School Board Office on Monday, Nov. 21, to deliver 26 dinners for distribution to families for Thanksgiving. Members of the Eagles shopped for, packed the dinners in boxes, then loaded them into the group’s trailer for the ride to Chatham. Not pictured was committee chairperson Lori Nuhfer. Colonial Beach, Virginia - April 2017 Colonial Beach Eagles #4315 made a generous donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital last month. As a result of months of planning by benefit committee chairman, Bill Hall, co-chair Rebecca Kinson, and committee members Debbie Bennett, Donna Barnette, Patricia Cochran, Debra Garcia, Carrie Keister, Ginger Roth, Sharon Schellin, and Linda Watts, the F.O.E. was able to donate $12,232 to this worthy cause. Committee members ran several events to raise funds, including a brown bag auction, buffets during football games, and a prime rib dinner.
