They raised $4,300, and donated $12,000 in presents. Portland Eagles worked diligently with Yahmill and Washington County DHS to ensure that each specific gift made it to the foster child who requested it. Related Articles Portland, Oregon - February 2019 During the year of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018, East Portland Aerie #3256 collected food for the Oregon Food Bank. They were able to donate 4,839 lbs. of food, which equals out to 4,025 meals. The Aerie beat their 2017 record by 172.5lbs. Food Bank Chairperson Maggie Boaz has been a member of the auxiliary for 38 years and said this is a large feat for this smaller Aerie. Fredericksburg, Virginia - February 2024 Junior Order of Eagles #4123 recently held a Shoe Drive, with the shoes making their way to a village in Rwanda. Thank you to those who donated to Andrew Frye's shoe drive! Together, the Junior Order of Eagles #4123 collected hundreds of shoes! Thank you to a good friend Yves for helping coordinate getting them to this village in Rwanda where they were needed! Sturgis, Michigan - February 2024 Sturgis Eagles #1314 presented $1,100 to Sturgis Public Schools' Lunch Program “No Child Goes Hungry”. Thank You to everyone that made this happen though Cooler Cards at the club and the Bake Sale during US-12 Heritage Garage Sale! Sunnyslope, Arizona - February 2024 Sunnyslope Eagles #2957 held a Food and Toy Basket drive for Vista Colina Shelter in Phoenix. The chairpersons were Anthony and Ofelia Johnson. The Brothers and Sisters of Aerie #2957 Sunnyslope really came alive in donations and showed the community the spirit of "People Helping People." Bartlesville, Oklahoma - February 2024 Bartlesville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #610 put together and delivered their annual food baskets. Bartlesville fundraises all year to finance this project. Each basket feeds a family for a week and cost about $150. Chillicothe, Ohio - February 2024 Chillicothe, Ohio Eagles #600 hosted the Chillicothe/Ross County Chamber of Commerce Monthly Business after Business networking event January 17. Roughly 150 business leaders and their employees attended, at which time Aerie #600 presented seven $5,000 checks to various 501(c)3 charitable organizations which included the following: Ross County Special Olympics, Honor Flights, Chillicothe Art League, St Judes Children's Research, First Capital Enterprises, Ross County Senior Citizens Center, and the Child Protection Center.
