15 November Rochester, Michigan - September 2019 November 15, 2019 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Michigan 0 Rochester Aerie #2634 held a golf outing, which included raffle items from the local businesses and community members, and a light meal. They were able to raise $2,000, and are allocating the funds to the Rainbow Connection of Michigan and the F.O.E. Memorial Foundation. The Auxiliary provided the food and organized the raffle items. Rochester Auxiliary #2634 hosted a bunco game party and raised $565 for Miracle Quilts of Michigan, which is a nonprofit that creates handmade quilts for military veterans that have been hospitalized. Bacliff, Texas - September 2019 Mainland Aerie #3199 held a fish fry for St. Jude’s and was able to donate $1,000 to the organization. Latrobe, Pennsylvania - September 2019 Tony Angelo #1188 held their Annual Mike Levay Gun Bash and was able to present $11,000 to their local Little League organization. Mike Levay was a coach and mentor for elementary age baseball players, along with being a member of the Aerie. He lost his life due to a tragic accident so the Aerie has continued his good work for the Little league organization. Sutherlin, Virginia - September 2019 Eagle Riders #4420 participated in the Dean Ferris Memorial Ride fundraiser to benefit the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association. The Eagle Riders made a contribution of $19,511.78, and over the 8 years that this event has been held, a cumulative total of $144,511.77 has been raised to help the victims of cancer in their community. Woodland, Michigan - March 2019 Woodland Eagles #3782 raised $1,100 for the F.O.E. Heart Foundation by hosting a spaghetti dinner, and by selling cheer baskets, 50/50 tickets and pink hearts. Hale, Michigan - April 2019 Hale Auxiliary #4217 hosted a 30th anniversary celebration for their Auxiliary President Lillian Murray, where guests enjoyed a catered meal, with music and dancing. During the event, a $500 check was presented to GMP Althea Lane for her charity City of Hope. Michigan State MP Linda Day was also in attendance and was presented with a $250 check for her charity - the University of Michigan’s Alzheimer and Dementia Research Facility.
