4 September Russellville, Arkansas - May 2019 September 4, 2019 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Arkansas 0 On April 14, the family of longtime member Virginia “Ginny” Watson, of Russellville, Ark., Auxiliary #3928, made a donation of $40,000 to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center in Ginny’s honor. Ginny joined the Eagles in 1980 and was member until her passing in 2015. She was a dedicated Eagle and a proud supporter of the DRC’s efforts to find a cure for diabetes. F.O.E. Chairman of the Board of Grand Trustees Tom McGrath was on hand to thank the family and present them with a special plaque commemorating the donation. Okahumpka, Florida - September 2019 During the year of 2019, Lake County Aerie and Auxiliary #4273 so far have donated a collective $61,000 to six local nonprofit charities; the Leesburg Food Bank, Camp Boggy Creek, Haven of Lake and Sumter Counties, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, New Vision for Independence, and Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation. Lehigh Acres, Florida - March 2019 Lehigh Acres Eagles #3938 donated over 700lbs. of food that was collected during the Celebration of Life for Marjorie Wallace. The donations were split between the Lehigh Community Services and the Faith Lutheran Church. Lock Haven, Pennsylvania - March 2019 Captain Dan Johnson of the Salvation Army accepted a $5,000 donation from the Lock Haven Aerie #4298. Presenters are Eagle Officers and Trustees Ron Bowes, JoAnn Bowes, George Stefanski, Kasey Campbell, Maud Peck, Todd Kreidler and Ken Wert. Silver Springs, Florida - March 2019 Ocala Forest Eagles #4216 held their 6th Annual State Presidents 5K Charity Walk to raise money for their State Presidents charities. To help raise more money, the members organized a group of volunteers to get sponsors for the T-shirts by approaching local businesses, and also got over 100 different items like gift cards and t-shirts to raffle off. From membership across the state of Florida, #4216 was able to collect over $5,000 in walk sponsorship money. After T-shirt, Raffle, 50/50, Food and T-shirt advertisements sales, they were able to present their State Worthy President Bill Lucik with a check for $4,411.50 for his charity Fairways for Warriors, and State Madam President Melanie Day with a check for $4,411.50 for her charity Florida Hospital for Pompe Disease. Loveland, Ohio - March 2019 Grand Madam President Althea Lane visited the Loveland Auxiliary #3006 and received more than $600 for her charity, City of Hope.
