4 September Silver Springs, Florida - March 2019 September 4, 2019 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Florida 0 Ocala Forest Eagles #4216 held their 6th Annual State Presidents 5K Charity Walk to raise money for their State Presidents charities. To help raise more money, the members organized a group of volunteers to get sponsors for the T-shirts by approaching local businesses, and also got over 100 different items like gift cards and t-shirts to raffle off. From membership across the state of Florida, #4216 was able to collect over $5,000 in walk sponsorship money. After T-shirt, Raffle, 50/50, Food and T-shirt advertisements sales, they were able to present their State Worthy President Bill Lucik with a check for $4,411.50 for his charity Fairways for Warriors, and State Madam President Melanie Day with a check for $4,411.50 for her charity Florida Hospital for Pompe Disease. Creston, Iowa - March 2019 During the HERO - Healing at English Rivers Outfitters - fundraiser, Creston #1398 was able to raise more than $7,500 for their cause. St. Marys, Georgia - March 2019 With the help of its members, St. Mary’s Eagles #4379 hosted a variety of dinners throughout the month of February, 2019. They were able to raise a total of $1,571 for different charities: Barry & Berta’s Linguini in White Clam Sauce Dinner raised $200 for Hospice of the Golden Isles; Laura & Jaime’s Taco Meal raised $197 for Patio Improvements Fund; Pete & Jennifer’s Jambalaya Dinner raised $230 for the Ronald McDonald House; Paula’s Sloppy Joe Dinner and Jennifer’s Jambalaya Dinner raised $73 for Literacy – Camden Wee Read; AUCE Fish Fry Crew raised $262 for Diabetes Research Center; Connie’s Cabbage Rolls Dinner raised $91 for the Cancer and Heart Funds; and Past Presidents’ Reuben Sandwich Dinner raised $518 for Camden High School Scholarship Fund.
