Dunlap Kidney Fund $510 for the GMP’s Charity, Tri-State Honor Flight $150 for the Golden Eagle, Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s Funds $140 for the Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund $370 for the Lew Reed Spinal Cord Injury Fund $201 for the Max Baer Heart Fund $366 for the Memorial Foundation $648 for the Robert Hansen Diabetes Fund The Region also presented grants for $5,000 from the Grand Aerie and the Kansas Past State Presidents. South Central Region - November 2020 During the annual South Central Regional Conference last month in Jefferson City, Mo., Eagles from Missouri and Kansas raised a total of $15,600 for the FOE Diabetes Research Center Bridge to the Cure project. Through program book ad sales, 50/50 raffles, a live auction and more, the members combined to raise an incredible sum of money benefiting the charity of Grand Madam President Jacque Marble, who attended the conference, and Grand Worthy President Dave Smith. Blairsville, Pennsylvania - November 2017 Blairsville Eagle Riders #1488 were hard at work during the riding season, hosting a trio of benefit runs and making numerous community donations raising $12,253. In terms of total donations from the Eagle Riders, Aerie and Auxiliary, Blairsville is near eclipsing $20,000 total in 2017. Vermillion, South Dakota - January 2017 Sunshine Aerie #2421 in Vermillion presented a grant for $5,000 from the D.D. Dunlap Kidney Fund to University of South Dakota researchers Curtis Kost, Jr., PhD and Douglas Martin, PhD for a project entitled Protective Effect of Bradykinin Receptors in Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease. The check was presented by visiting Grand Worthy President-Elect Tom McGrath. Livermore, California - November 2017 In September, Livermore Aerie #609 held a fundraiser in the name of longtime member Bruce Orcutt, who had recently passed away. They raised more than $2,100 for the “Reins In Motion” organization, which is an equine therapy center for children and returning veterans who have trouble overcoming disabilities. They plan to make this fundraiser an annual event. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - November 2017 Coeur d’Alene Eagles #576 made a $7,500 donation to the K-27 Memorial Fund, presenting the check to Mayor Steve Widmyer and Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White. The funds will be used to help construct a Thin Blue Line Memorial River in McEuen Park in honor of Sergeant Greg Moore, who passed away in May 2015. The river will include three waterfalls – “Respect,” “Honor,” and “Remember” – as well as 18 benches for people to relax and reflect on all of our men and women in blue who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
