Related Articles Vermillion, South Dakota - October 2019 Sunshine Aerie #2421 held a spaghetti dinner and donated the total proceeds of $4,500 to the University of South Dakota Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders. Following dinner, a check presentation was made by Dakota State Chaplain Kent Osborne to Dr. Mandy Williams as a grant from the Eagles' Jimmy Durante Children's Fund to support the identification and treatment of children born with cleft palate. A signature cocktail was served with 50/50 raffles held as well. Valdez, Alaska - October 2019 Valdez Ladies Auxiliary 1971 Madam President Sheila Jordan, Trustee Chair Alicia Brown and Madam Secretary Carole Derifield presented the Herman Hutchins Elementary School Principal Jayson Webber, teachers and staff, $1,000 for each grade K through 5th, and gave the VCS Pre-school $500. The Auxiliary also presented the Gilson Middle School Principal Rod Morrison $1,000 each for grades 6th through 8th for a total of $9,500 donated to be used for scholarships. Woodland, Michigan - March 2019 Woodland Eagles #3782 raised $1,100 for the F.O.E. Heart Foundation by hosting a spaghetti dinner, and by selling cheer baskets, 50/50 tickets and pink hearts. Hale, Michigan - April 2019 Hale Auxiliary #4217 hosted a 30th anniversary celebration for their Auxiliary President Lillian Murray, where guests enjoyed a catered meal, with music and dancing. During the event, a $500 check was presented to GMP Althea Lane for her charity City of Hope. Michigan State MP Linda Day was also in attendance and was presented with a $250 check for her charity - the University of Michigan’s Alzheimer and Dementia Research Facility. Woodland, Michigan - April 2019 Stacey Rice, Woodland Aerie #3782 President, presented a $1,572.30 check to the Hope Lodge Asst. Manager, Kathryn. Hope Lodge is a place where families can stay for free while a loved is being treated with cancer. Rice’s mother passed away 8 months ago from cancer and utilized Hope Lodge’s services during that time; it was also her charity for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. White Cloud, Michigan - August 2019 White Cloud Eagles Auxiliary #4170 held a meat raffle, which raised $1,000 and a swiss steak dinner, which raised $350. $450 of those proceeds was used to send first graders from White Cloud Elementary on a field trip celebrating their graduation to 2nd grade. Students traveled to Card Wildlife Education Center at Ferris State University, followed by roller skating, bowling, and a pizza picnic at a nearby park.
