7 February Sutherlin, Virginia - January 2023 February 7, 2023 By The Fraternal Order of Eagles Virginia 0 Piedmont Eagle Riders #4420 held their 13th Annual Dean Ferris Memorial Ride last fall, benefiting the Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association for the 11th year in a row. Related Articles Sutherlin, Virginia - January 2017 Piedmont Eagles #4420 made their annual visit to Pittsylvania County School Board Office on Monday, Nov. 21, to deliver 26 dinners for distribution to families for Thanksgiving. Members of the Eagles shopped for, packed the dinners in boxes, then loaded them into the group’s trailer for the ride to Chatham. Fredericksburg, Virginia - May 2023 The Junior Order of Eagles of Fredericksburg #4123 held a raffle for chances to win tickets and a basket filled with swag for the local Fredericksburg Nationals baseball team. Proceeds from the raffle were used to put together 20 Easter Baskets for local non-profit organization Transitions4You, which helps local families who are living in hotels and working toward permanent housing. The group provides Easter baskets and a parade for the children living in the hotels. Jamestown, North Dakota - January 2023 James River Eagles Aerie #2337 recently presented a check for $20,000 to the Jamestown Rural Fire Department for the purchase of a new pumper truck. Hudson, Florida - January 2023 Hudson Eagles #3997 recently presented a check for $7,600 to Lindsey Oliver of the National Pediatric Center. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - January 2023 Lake Havasu City Eagles #4299 presented representatives from the DES (Department of Economic Security) with a check for $12,000 to assist Lake Havasu City families with gift cards for Christmas. They also donated more than 70 gifts to Haven House for area children. Bradenton, Florida - January 2023 When Hurricane Ian came to town on September 28, 2022, Eagle Village suffered extensive damage. Most of the retired Eagle residents were without power for a full week. First to respond with aid was Bradenton Aerie #3171 and the Eagle Riders of #3171. The Riders donated $500 and the Aerie matched their donation, giving $500 plus donating food and supplies. Eagle Village Council members Tom Hejra and Sally Whipple presented certificates of appreciation from the Village residents to Aerie President Ed Rayburn and Eagle Riders President Rick Killion.
