Cranbrook Aerie #3032 donated $5,000 to the Easy Kootenay Foundation for Health, to help with the purchase of a SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) scanner for the EK Regional Hospital. Maple Ridge, British Columbia - May 2019 Maple Ridge Aerie #2831 presented a $1,000 check to the nonprofit KidSport Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows, which is an organization that provides financial support for children to play organized sport in Canada ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’ Abbotsford, British Columbia - June 2019 Abbotsford Aerie #2726 and Worthy President Rick Smith made a $30,300 donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Abbotsford Aerie donated $2,332.10 to Worthy President Richard Smith’s charity, the Abbotsford Hospice Society Holmberg House. Campbell River, British Columbia - December 2018 Campbell River Aerie and Auxiliary #3097 presented an $8,150 check and donated a total of 1,447 food items to their local food back. The money was raised through catering, pie, jam and bake sales, and dinners. Campbell River Eagles #3097 donated $5,000 to Kidney Cancer Research. This donation is special because it will be matched, and will turn into $10,000. These funds were raised through pie sales, caterings and a fashion show. Penticton, British Columbia - October 2019 Penticton Auxiliary #4821 presented a local student with $500 educational scholarship. Penticton Eagles #4281’s Vice President Stan Binns presented a $525 check to Tracy Van Raes from Starfish Pack of Penticton. The money will be used to provide one local child with a backpack of food every weekend for one year. Maple Ridge, British Columbia - November 2019 Maple Ridge Eagles #2831 presented $500 to Jennifer Sheehan and Katrina Haintz of Eric Langton Elementary School in support of their student lunch & breakfast program. These funds were raised during their annual golf tournament and bbq fundraiser. They’ve been able to donate $2,350 over the last four years. Debbie Kennedy and Laura Butler, Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Maple Ridge Eagles #2831. These funds were made available by a grant from the Grand Aerie, to be used along with the $6,000 donated by the local Aerie & Auxiliary in July, for the purchase of SD Resectoscope cameras which are used in Bladder Cancer surgery.
